Stand Up and Be Counted!

Well America, we missed a golden opportunity last election cycle to clean house. Yep, you were all enamored by our candidates for President, but you lost sight of the folks in Congress causing the majority of our pain and, by your vote, you let these losers stay in office.  Both Republican and Democratic members of Congress are at fault and responsible for the current financial crisis. And the folks responsible for the problem are now responsible for fixing it! Is there a problem here?  I wonder why we have not seen any hearings in Congress on the root cause of the problems we face today (secret...because they all caused it)!

The problem is that Conservatives have fallen asleep at the wheel. Conservatives somehow feel that they can sit idle and things will take care of themselves. Well, look where we are.  We have a Congress that has run a muck, and both sides of the aisle can only agree on one thing, to find ways to stay in office...forever!  It must be fun spending money that is not theirs, and they will do anything to have keep their seat.  Why not? They have great benefits, great salaries, and unlimited expense plans. They don't contribute to Social Security, they can vote themselves raises (actually raises are automatic unless they vote against it), and they can basically get away with anything they want. They truly do believe they are the elite, and above the law.

The time has come for Conservatives (Republicans, Independents, Libertarians) to stand up.  When they have Townhall meetings in your area, do you attend? Do you vote in all elections?  Do you send emails, letters, or call your Congressional Reps to tell them how you feel?  Do you really research the candidates, or simply vote along party lines? Do you feel you could do more?

The bottom line is that the majority of our elected representatives do not represent us.  How many Conservatives in Congress voted for TARP?  Just about all of them.   How about the three "Republicans" who voted for the Stimulus Bill?  Are their days numbered?  How about the Omnibus Spending Bill?  Will their votes be based on conservative values?  Will any Democrats with a conscience oppose it?

Simply put, it is time that we all stand up and fight for what we believe in.  If we don't we have no one to blame but ourselves.

  • Fight to stop the wreckless spending in Washington DC
  • Fight to eliminate any/all raises for Congress, and to reduce their salaries
  • Fight to get term limits in Congress, eliminating Congress from being a career for these losers. We can do better.
  • Fight to get conservative thinkers who can think for themselves (instead of relying on staff) into office.
  • Fight for what you believe in!
We have to focus our attention on these pillars of society that have forgotten who they work for.  Do your research, monitor their votes, get engaged, and then vote your conscience.
